# Regulatory Filing and State Compliance Reporting

Each quarter, the Compliance Officer compiles claims and complaint data from the Claims Management System and CRM into a state regulatory filing.

The Compliance Officer first reconciles the data against internal records, then prepares the filing, then submits it to the state insurance regulator before the deadline.

Policy requires quarterly filings to be submitted no later than 30 days after quarter-end, per state insurance law. In practice, the Compliance Officer usually finishes filings a week early, to leave buffer time in case the regulator requests corrections.

Late filings must be accompanied by a written explanation to the state regulator, which is an exception process the Compliance Officer hopes never to use.
