# Large Loss Claim Executive Notification When a claim's estimated loss exceeds $250,000, the assigned Senior Adjuster notifies the Claims Director, who then notifies the CFO. The Claims Director first reviews the claim summary, then prepares a brief for the CFO, then schedules a review call if the loss involves potential reinsurance implications. Policy requires CFO notification within 24 hours of a claim crossing the $250,000 threshold. In practice, the Claims Director often notifies the CFO the same day the threshold is confirmed, rather than waiting close to the 24-hour limit. Large losses connected to a declared catastrophe event follow the Catastrophe Response Protocol instead of standard large-loss notification, since CAT events already require executive visibility.
